If you have a chance to see GNR on this tour, DO NOT HESITATE! Last night's show at the Fleet Center in Boston was un-fuking-believeable. I just bought tickets to see them again in Philly on Friday.

They played for a solid 2 hours. The concert ended at 12:45AM . It got a little weird when Axl started bad-mouthing Izzy, but it was a great show. Probably the best concert I've ever seen (definitely the best arena concert).

Hmmm I've read several online reviews that absolutely trashed the new-look GnR. I considered going to the Philly show but balked after hearing that they just didn't have it anymore. The MTV appearance also did very little to persuade me.

I thought about going but then remembered that they always sucked.

Okay, Bitt, we get the idea that you don't like GnR. Get over yourself already.

Yeah, but casting aspersions on one's musical tastes is worthy of some time in the penalty box, especially on a BBS where folks of all musical influences and persuasions come together.

I know you're trying to be funny, but sometimes you can come off as a little bit pedantic.

Fair enough.

Five minutes.

Edit: BTW, are you implying that I have a predilection for certain words?

I was expecting it to blow based on those reviews, but it was kick-ass.

Last night's show at the Fleet Center in Boston was un-fuking-believeable

you didn't come into my restaurant did you?? The Friday's American Bar, just around the corner from the Fleet Center?

Well, if you plan on coming to anything else at the Fleet Center let me know I'll hook you up with some free dinner and drinks (that goes for pretty much anyone else on this board as well )

as for the G'N'F'N'R show.... we closed a bit early and so did most of the bars in the area because we heard that the crowd was starting to 'riot' because it was almost 11pm and Guns hadn't gone on stage yet. Everyone was afraid that they wouldn't show and the fans would be all pissy and cause trouble. Of course nothing really happend at all. I heard that the reason they went on so late was that Axl was on a plane from NYC to Boston at 10pm.

Whatever.

Oh crap! I would have had I known which Friday's you worked at. We ate at an Uno's on Mass Ave. near Northeastern University.

GNR went on at 10:45 but it's OK. The crowd was kept entertained by girls in the crowd flashing for the Jumbotron.

I think some of us have different reasons for going to rock concerts than others. I mean, if one wants to see boobies, there are a lot less expensive ways to do it...

Well yeah, but it's a fringe benefit of a rock show...

Just in case you didn't hear yet, GNR was a no-show in Philly. There were a bunch of chairs thrown about, but that was about it.

That is why I will never respect this band...they are selfish and never cease to let down their fans.

Lots of older bands do this. They've got fame and fortune allready, so why bother?

I saw Peter Gabriel last month in Chicago, and granted it was like his 3rd show on the tour, but he was forgetting lines, the stage was screwed up, etc. Kinda dissapointing for $95. To their credit, the band played great, even his daughter was good (I was kinda suprised), but Pete had just lost something over the years.

The same with Manson a couple years ago at a festival. He forgot what city he was in and just stopped singing a few times. Luckely he was the last act (bah) so I just left.

Damnit, Damnit, Damnit, shut up! That was a spoiler! I'm going to see him next week and I didn't know about that! ARRRGH!

And by the way, I'm sorry you were disappointed in the show. I spent about $500.00 for four seats based solely on the fact that his "Secret World" tour ten years ago was the single best concert-going experience I ever had and is likely to never be topped.

Hopefully they'll have the bugs sorted out of the show by the time it gets to my area...

Hey, maybe he's got the bugs ironed out. I knew about his daughter performing with him before I saw the show too... Overall it WAS a good a show though. You're going to like it.

Sorry though, I should have thought there could be some pete fans here before I posted. I've attached a text file with the review my friend I went with wrote. She's a pretty devoted fan (she actually has a shrine...) so I'd say she's probobly qualified to comment. Read it if you want, or come back and read it later. I'd like to know how your show goes too.

Btw, if you want a great concert experience go see nine inch nails. Talk about an insanely great show. I can't wait till he tours again.

I saw them at the ACC in Toronto. They rocked!!! Mix master mic was not my type of music... But oh well.. He showed up at 10:30.... and played for 2hours.. It was absolutely amazing.

I feel sorry for everyone that's going to miss the rest of the tour!

It was amazing and excellent. It didn't quite have the visceral impact of the Secret World tour, but it was very nearly as good.

Everything seemed to go off well, I didn't really see any technical difficulties. The big theatrical set-gags all seemed to work as planned, and the sound was fantastic. The performances were all immaculate.

I think the high point of the show was "Mercy Street". Really enjoyed seeing that one played live.
