Building Database takes so long every time!

Hey guys,
Since I added more tunes to my RioCar..every time it boots up it says Building Music Database.. but it takes like 10 mins to do it? I understand that it does do this sometimes on the initial load after loading on tunes, but after that it never did this before. What do u suggest?

10 mins? how many tunes to you have?

I've got 5,380 on mine and it takes <30 seconds.

I think maybe you need to let Emplode rebuild the database. That seemed to work for me and is in the FAQ I think. Since you don't mention having tried this, I am assuming you haven't.

When the player boots, or when you synchronize? The former takes longer on the (slow) CPU on the player. Plus, since the disk is mounted readonly the result isn't saved for next boot, either.

Database rebuild during synchronisation also occurs on the player. There is (should be) no difference in time taken.
