First person signed up for the User meet -
already!
Mike Tempsch, possibly accompanied by his Mum (sharing the driving) tells me he's coming to the meet....
.... what about
YOU?

Well, there's the entry in
the Calendar.
I think that Michael has told Rob that he's coming, rather than signed up anywhere.

I'm not going to make it this year. I can't really afford it, I just owe too much to the tax man in fines and late payment penalties...

Re: Yaayy!! - 25/01/2005 14:17
Will definitely be there - now I just have to sort out the 101, or find an even more insane vehicle.

Re: Yaayy!! - 25/01/2005 14:34
Well, I'm defintely coming. I started calling around airlines this past weekend.

Re: Yaayy!! - 25/01/2005 14:49
I'm currently trying to find someone to come with me, it's not looking too promising at the moment.

Re: Yaayy!! - 25/01/2005 15:03
Depending on Jet2's prices I may be able to afford the Sat night, from Manchester the price is about £70ish at the moment.
I will keep an eye on the prices, but I think I may have to put the money towards a trip to see my Grandparents in Spain, then again I could drive there and catch the meet on the way back, mmmmmmmmmmmmm now theres a thought.
Wouldn't help you much with company, and I don't think you would fit in the boot of the Smart with me and Nicola
Cheers
Cris.

If I can manage to sell my father's house in sufficient time, I'll probably be along again, likely with the wife in tow.

I don't think many people would fit in the boot of a smart assuming they still have all their limbs intact.

And, once again, if some of you want to stay in Amsterdam before or after, our guest room/video room/garden room have space...

Re: Yaayy!! - 25/01/2005 23:19
Ah, so if it's just a verbal confirmation, then I'll be there. And I won't be sick and miserable this time, I promise.

Re: Yaayy!! - 26/01/2005 00:47
I'll be there, for my first meet as an empeg outsider!

Re: Yaayy!! - 26/01/2005 02:09
I'll try to make it again this year. The trip last year was amazing, and with no recent house debt, I should be able to sell of some company stock to buy tickets.
So, instead of the fundraiser this year, I'll just ask the community to do whatever you can to make HPs stock go up :-)

Re: Yaayy!! - 27/01/2005 12:45
If I were to inherit a load of cash or win the lottery (even though I don't play) or publisher's clearing house between now and then, I'd so be there.
Can we move the meet to
Liverpool?

Re: Yaayy!! - 27/01/2005 15:53
It would take a special kind of desperation to be tempted by a Liverpudlian whore!

Besides, never go curb crawling in Liverpool, you don't even have to slow down to a stop to get your alloys nicked!

That's a neat trick... those guys could probably be gainfully employed in a F1 pit crew

That's an old one
Quote:
not only were the Scouse pit crew able to change the tyres in under 6 seconds but within 12 seconds they had resprayed, rebadged, and had sold the vehicle over to the McLaren Team for four dozen cans of Special Brew, a gram of Coke and a quick shuffty at Coulthard's bird in the shower.

Re: Yaayy!! - 31/01/2005 17:32
Nothing new here!
In the early 20's, management of the railways in the Liverpool area were reporting that it was unsafe to leave carriages in sidings as the brass door and grab handles were removed, adding to the problem of coal missing in large quantities from tenders.
All they've done is move the technology on a bit!

Re: Yaayy!! - 09/02/2005 22:07
I'll be there......just found and booked a good ferry deal - £70 return, would have been £50 if I went a bit later on the friday. It beats the £200 last year, even if going from Dover means a longer drive.

Re: Yaayy!! - 09/02/2005 22:12
I will be going as well, same ferry as Phill

Re: Yaayy!! - 10/02/2005 07:00
Looks like I'm there - my firm has a thing on earlier in the week in Noordwijk, which is 50odd miles west of Amersfoort, so aside from accommodation, and that 50 miles I'l have it paid for.
Result - I've been meaning to get there for years.
Quite literally - Yaaayyyyy!

The boxers have their Jet2 flights booked.

Re: Yaayy!! - 10/02/2005 10:30
Can't be bothered to drive over again. It looks like it'll be £90 to fly from Manchester so I think I'll be doing that. Much less hassle.

Re: Yaayy!! - 10/02/2005 13:49
£69.11 return from Leeds bradford!

Re: Yaayy!! - 10/02/2005 14:00
Which dates are you looking at? Mine was going out Friday afternoon and coming back Sunday. Any longer and it means paying for extra nights at the hotel. So you end up paying one way or another.

Re: Yaayy!! - 10/02/2005 16:34
We're taking the early flight friday and the early flight Monday: That Chinese sounded too good to miss.
I hope that the spare ribs restaurant is back on the agenda for friday night: i'm just ruled by my stomach!
Posted by: andym
Re: Yaayy!! - 10/02/2005 16:59
Flying back a day later is only £10 cheaper but then there's another night in the hotel to pay for.

Re: Yaayy!! - 10/02/2005 17:05
Yep, Sunday night is always going to be a pricier flight, because it's weighed down with stag and hen parties; they know that they can fill it!
It's so bad that the airlines have people looking round the lounge for passengers unfit to fly, so that they don't have the hassle of unloading luggage after the flight has boarded.

Re: Yaayy!! - 04/03/2005 07:09
And my firm were happy to have my return on the Sunday rather than the Friday, so I'll be there from whatever time on Friday afternoon I can get from Noordvijk to Amersfoort.

Re: Yaayy!! - 06/03/2005 19:36
Too bad the dates conflict again with the
North Sea Jazz Festival.
This year is the last year that the festival will be held in my hown tome of The Hague. The venue is only five minutes walking from my home...
I will probably be able to visit both events if I limit myself to the main event at Amersfoort, just like I did last year.

The flight tickets have now been ordered... 134 euro round trip from Oslo to Rotterdam with Transavia isn't too bad... I'm flying out on tuesday visiting a friend that lives nearby first and return on monday.
