Tuner in winter - 06/12/2005 21:06

Hi All,

Just thought I'd throw this thought out there in the hope someone has found the same....

Noticed on my journey to and from work recently that with the blowers going (not on max) but heating the car makes the tuner loose reception radically. The bars remain the same so the signal seems to be received, but the output is shear white noise, with the odd almost recognisable human sound. Turn the heaters down and depending on how hot they were the reception would return at some point.

I have a PCATS tuner, riocar running 3a11.

What I can't work out is if this is the tuner getting too hot (not hot to the touch) or something inside the empeg itself.

Anyone else come across this?

Cheers,

Raas

I'd look at your antenna connection first: have you got a powered antenna (active)?
