Easiest is to send it to Stu or somebody else to fix.

You need to be able to solder to fix it.

Yeah, attempting self-repair is fine for those with electronics experience, but rather risky for others.

Here's the relevant thread.

i did the fix with no problems, but how do i change the corrected temp in hijack? can that only be done in the real hijack and not the special one used when fixing the sensor?

I believe it was intended for a factory fan, but isn't really useful as such (constant voltage, no s/w control, ..).

If you mean the -4 degree adjustment, then that's a config.ini parameter.

But the chip is accurate to within one degree already, so the numbers you see are quite good for the vicinity of the chip itself.

In config.ini:

[hijack]
temperature_correction=0 ;; default is -4

Re: dead temp sensor - 29/05/2008 11:58

it's just because it reads around 8 degrees to much

my plan is to have a precision termometer just on top of the chip and see what difference there is....

Re: dead temp sensor - 29/05/2008 14:27

the sensor says 28 degrees centigrade, but an external termometer says 25,5 to 26,1

is it normal to be off like that?

just re soldered pin 8.. now the temp is precise
