I'd like to meet some of you from the East Coast, but I'd not want to drive TOO far from FL. Maybe as far as NC or South VA.

I would be there, as long as it was near the end of April or sometime in the summer...like July? I am heading back to Windsor from Winnipeg so a little extra distance is no prob.

Just organize it for the same time as the west coast one, and we can set up a real-time video link between the sites to turn it into a US meet.

I had talked to Rob about getting email addresses of people in the DC Metro Area, because there are quite a few, but I forgot to follow up.

We might want to see where the distribution lies, then decide where a meet would be held. We might have to end up holding more than one. It looks like there's a good number of New Englanders and I know there's at least 5 DC Metro folks.

Oh well, doesn't matter for me at the moment, being in Williamsburg, but actually, March 3rd is the very begining of my spring break. If we had one near the time of the west coast one, and Rob and everyone could drop by then, that would be great!

I'm all for one in the DC area! Have to hurry up with the Mk II install in the Cabrio. Now, who's going to stand up and organise it?

Re: east coast meet - 13/02/2001 19:26

I'm in the DC metro area.. I'd be willing to go as far as SC or NJ for the meet, in either direction....

I would be glad to lead up the planning of this meeting if it ends up being somewhere in my area... I can think of a few really good places to have it at.. dependant on the time of year/weather. For instance, if its later on when it gets a bit warmer, Great Falls would be a great place to have a get together like this. They have plenty of picnic places, where you can grill your own stuff, plenty of trails and stuff for the outdoorsy people... and a couple really big parking lots we can move to the back of to take a look at each others installs. :) (Plus, if its warmer, I can take my whitewater kayaks and tear up Great Falls for a while...)

Anyway, I would really love an east coast meeting to have the empeg support that the west coast one has (IE: rob/hugo/other empeg founders there and so on).. Is this a possibility Hugo? Rob?

Re: east coast meet - 14/02/2001 04:40

The west coast meet is getting a lot of support from us because it's the first US meet, and we want to help make it a huge success. Once the momentum has started I'm sure there will be lots of meets around the world, and unfortunately we can't support all of them in the same way (I wish we could, I wouldn't mind a full time job attending meets!).

There's no point trying to get a meet together immediately after Woodside, as we already have flights booked back to the UK - and in any case, internal coast-to-coast flights are more expensive than transatlantic!

When someone makes some firm arrangements, make sure you talk to me and I'll see how we may be able to help at the time.

Regards

Rob

Re: east coast meet - 14/02/2001 09:25

Well, I was thinking more along the lines of having the meet later on in the season (May or so). Maybe even some west coasters will have had such a great time at the first one, that they would be tempted to fly out to this one.

Anyone else?

Greetings!

I would be interested, but it would depend on where and when (of course)...
