I've got my Rio Car connected to my computer and I selected power off from the main menu but the blue standby LED is still on...been on for several hours. Is the unit off or is standby as close to off as it gets outside of the car?

I think so that is all mine does I just unplug it when I am done but I doubt it would hurt to leave it on standby

No, when on AC power it only goes to standby (i.e. disks spun down, display off, pretty much everything else running).
