Equalizer / Loudness

Equalizer / Loudness - 04/12/2001 15:42

There is a lower limitation of frequency of 50hz on the parametric equalizer. Is this a hardware limitation in that it will never be changed or is it something for the wish list. I listen to a lot of Drum and Bass where there is plenty going on below 50hz, and i'd like to flatten this area out if possible.

Also, does anyone know which frequency(s) are boosted by the Loudness feature.

Many Thanks

Can't tell by reading the DSP specs if it's a hardware limitation or not. You can change the Q parameter to have it cover a larger spectrum if you need it to.

I also would like to see details of the loudness feature's boost frequencies. My real dream would be to be able to edit the upper cutoff point as well as the loudness boost, so that I can program a perfect-sounding system at 0db with no loudness, then adjust the loudness levels to compensate only for lower-volume playback.

See, as it stands right now, even a maximum 0db volume, there's still some bass boost from the loudness. I'd rather adjust the cutoff so that the loudness disappears completely at about -5db or -10db, and then have it really crank for lower volumes.

Yes yes! Tony this is exactly the behavior of the perfect loudness control. Count my voice in the fight to make this happen. Let me know which congressman I should write a letter to.

They don't have congressmen in England...

This is an excellent (and much needed) feature. You can certainly add my vote for this one.
