I have. The only problem I had with them is getting a return on some bad memory they sent me. RMA'd the memory and still haven't heard anything back. I'd say to stay away from them, they may have good prices, but they aren't reliable. I'd much rather pay a few more dollars to a place I know has a great reputation, like (Rob mentioned) googlegear.
googlegear was merely okay when I bought from them. Their listing of products caused some confusion for me. I ordered the blask SOYO Dragon KT333 board from them when I meant to order the Platinum version. I quickly RMA'd it and ordered the board for not much more from Outpost.com and they shipped it to me extrememly quickly.
What I'm starting to look for is a company that ships quickly. That's usually a sign that they have their act together. I don't understand how it takes 2 days or more to ship something. I ordered memory from a company that took more than 3 days to ship my order. That's not acceptable. What's more they lied to me and said that they had shipped it out a day earlier, just to match their "24-to 48 hour" shipping promise, which is pretty lame in the first place.
Reading downt he thread, that's the only word that was in my mind as well. I know there's other good shops as well, but Newegg is consistently among the lowest price, and has been 100% for me over a dozen or more purchases.
I agree, I had a good experience dealing with Directron. I bought the most expensive part of my computer there, and they were the only online merchant that didn't give me a real hassle about shipping to an alternate address.
The one thing that scares me a little is that they use that Yahoo store thing. All the other companies I dealt with that used that have been less than reputable. But they seem to have their operation together, so that's not bad.
I used to manage a Yahoo store and I would do it again. It's mad easy to get going and it's pretty self-sufficient. But, I suppose that's also why the scum bags use it.
