Our Lady Peace: One Man Army

I don't know why, but I've been hooked on this song lately, and the band its self. I guess my mind wanted to test some of those "post-grunge" waters (how much would is suck to play music called post-anything?). The band is a lot better than a lot of the stuff out there right now, and for some reason they never made it big (except for one song).

So I recently bought two more of their albums, their 3rd one "Happiness is not a Fish that You Can Catch" and their latest one "Gravity". The prior is excellent, the later is a waste of time, sadly. They seem to have digressed into the generic crap of the day. Gravity would be exactly like every other Creed/the Calling/Nickleback album out there right now if the lead singer didn't have such a distinctive voice, which he seems to be trying to smooth out for some stupid reason.

But yeah, their earlier stuff is great. Check it out. Especially "One Man Army."

Hmm I only own "Naveed" and that's all I really care to own based on what I've heard... I guess I'll dip into the "Happiness.." album and see if there's anything worth checking out.

I really like Our Lady Peace. I find Naveed to be the best album though. Spritual Machines is probably second best IMO. That said, I am not big on their other albums. I don't own Gravity yet. Actually, I wasn't aware that it had been released.

I need to get Naveed. I liked all the songs I heard from it until I saw the video for and heard "The Birdman" and I didn't like that one.

I definitely want to get Spiritual Machines though, if for nothing other than Matt Cameron. That guy rules.

Rob, I would definitely advise downloading some stuff from Gravity first. They really disappointed me with this album. Mada's reedy voice is totally not as distinctive on it, and everything just sounds so boring. Read AMG's review of it. I think it's pretty accurate, even if their reviews of past albums have been pretty harsh.
