So what do I need? - 08/10/2002 11:13
I'm running an Orinoco Res. Gateway, issuing IP's to all my PC's. What do I need to add me Receiver to the wireless mix? Is it simply adding a ethernet/wireless converter?

grab a wet111 (linksys) or any other linksys wireless router - they work in bridge mode which will let it act as a client..

In fact AIUI that mode is called "AP client". They also have something different called "bridge mode" which is where wet11 and a basestation talk to each other only.
This is darn confusing, because, yes, when a wet11 is in AP client mode it does act as a bridge.

I disagree with the "or any other linksys wireless router" part. Haven't gotten the WAP11 to work with any other base station.

I have a WUSB11 working with my Orinoco RG. The trick was in the WEP Key. I had to enter a hex number to the same value as set in the Orinoco Silver cards... And they claim these are all interoperable
