Separate Loudness Control for Tuner Mode

Separate Loudness Control for Tuner Mode - 10/10/2001 13:32

If a separate EQ for tuner mode is tricky, then how about something simpler: A separate Loudnesss setting for tuner mode?

I imagine it would only be useful for some persons-- namely those who have their loudness turned up a bit for MP3s, and then discover that the radio stations also add bass to their signals.

Unfortunately that would not work for me as my loudness setting is usually on 0. I really need either a traditional bass control (that is tied to the input) or multiple EQ sets (that is tied to the input).

Actually I am surprised there aren't a lot more people complaining about this. I only have two 8 inch subs, but I can't listen to the radio with the volume above about 10 (with mp3s I go all the way to 0) because I am afraid I am going to blow something. Not to mention is sounds bad.

I have noticed the radio/bass thing but I don't listen to the radio enough, besides the fact I haven't had my tuner that long. My gripe about the radio section was the blurble sound (large bass) that seems to appear frequently when switching sources from MP3's to tuner. Right before the tuner signal strength meter reaches it's full strength there's a terrible blurble (like unplugging an amp at full volume) when the subs are up & pumping this is very unsettling considering there's over 1400 watts to them & they pump down to almost 15Hz.

BTW-I don't use the Loudness either, always set to 0.

Are you using an extension cable? Have you seen my post in bug reports? Maybe this is related. Because I don't get any blurble from my tuner.

It won't be easy but thanks maybe I'll try that I read your post about the extentions but didn't sound like the one I have all the wires are accounted for & the signal is full strength where it should be.

& the signal is full strength where it should be.

One of the symptoms of a mis-wired extension cable is that the signal strength meter reads full strength all the time...

Actually after reading my original post ....right before it reaches full strength is not entirely accurate, the sound comes when the meter is at 0 strength.

OK I'm getting things confusing, the meter isn't always on full. I'm still going to try the fix just to see what happens.
