This is based on the fallacious argument that insurance companies cannot make money by insuring people. This is clearly an insane argument, as insurance companies are currently making money doing just that. I think that's one of the complaints. And, although I haven't seen any studies, I don't think that you'll find that the uninsured are significantly sicker than the insured; there are huge numbers of people who are healthy but can't afford insurance.
