Sadly, our official "Staircase Photographer" wasn't there this year.

Photos to come from Patrick and Doug.

That was actually the nasty CD Tuner that was in Robs van before he installed the empeg, I thought it looked steam powered, but obviously it's propane powered.

Until things are resolved at riocar.org, I've stuck my photos up at:

http://www.andym.net/gallery/amersfoort2005

Now for a few thankyou's......

  • Julf for putting Steve and I up in Amsterdam on Thursday night and also for bringing our luggage on the back of his motorcycle after the Morgan broke down, a seriously great bloke!
  • Rob S for organising yet another kick-ass meet in the Netherlands, even though he did it while he was working in the UK, good work fella!
  • The empeg guys past and present, for still showing their support by attending and also putting another new alpha out.
  • ...and everyone else for being there and making the meet what it is, a seriously good time.

So here's to Cambridge 2006!

Okay I have the Jet footage edited together, it's approx 40meg and runs for 5 minutes. I'd host it, but I have a feeling my ADSL will be caned. Anyone feel like hosting it for me?

Hi folks,

Well I think I've just about recovered from Amersfoort 2005. I'm glad we made it in time for the ribs this year. I now understand why they are legendary.

Many thanks to Rob for putting together such a well organised event. Really Rob, I don't know how you do it. And for those of you who weren't there, I must confess that I was the lucky one who won the empeg in the raffle ... again. What are the odd's on that? Reminds me, must buy a lotto ticket. Next year I understand it's Julf's turn again. Thanks again to Julf for putting us up on Thursday, Hope you got the Morgan going again.

Our journey back was fairly uneventful, though I'm never going to fly with bunged up sinuses again. It felt like my head was going to implode. Hope everyone else made it back safely. Better be going, my time in this internet café is running out (don't ask why I'm in a café, it's a long story).

Cheers,
Steve

PS: Andy, like the photo of rob with the cannon, makes him look very ghostly.

Hi guys

Want to thank you for Amersfoort 2005 fab to be there! A special thank's to Rob S. for his work and engagement in the project!

I got a call from my work collegue saturday night, and I had to rush home first thing sunday morning. It was kind of an emergency, and I HAD to be at work monday morning. Hence I left the party and went to bed way too early

I left Campanile at 08:00 and parked the car in Oslo at 22:00. Thats 1470 k's in 14 hours

On my way home I broke my speed record in the car. 215 km/h (133,6 mph)! How cool is that!

Here you can see a short videoclip recorded with the cameras mounted in the car as shown at the carpark on saturday.

Enjoy!

It was my first empeg meet and I absolutely loved it. It was brilliant to finally meet all the folks I knew from the board.

My only regret was having to rush off early on Sunday to get started on a new piece of work for my firm. Finally I'm back in front of a computer today.

Andy - if you get your video footage hosted, I have told all sorts of people about the Jet engine, marshmallow, flameout fun, so they can't wait to see.

And I have a button superset from Firefox, so my little empeg is looking smart! Haven't had time for 3A10 yet, but I do fancy getting the autoEQ sorted at some point so will have to play with an alpha.

I even did okay in the feely-bag game (not that I looked over Hugo's shoulder or anything)

Next year, I am hopeful it will be in Cambridge, as then I can take my Scooby and go for the install competition as well...although I don't think it would have won against the setups there this year!

All in all, thanks a million Rob, for hosting it (and trying to be extra helpful getting me places) and to everyone else for being a good bunch of folks (tm)

I would have liked to have been first to post in thanks for yet another great meet, especially as I crept of to bed, nursing my cold, early on Sunday without saying my goodbyes and thanks, as ever, to Rob, who appeared to br trying to get a projectile in the North Sea at that time.
Look forward to next year and keep the flame burning bright, Cambridge will do great, after all, it is the home of Empeg.

Caleb (l0ser) is hosting the files for me, I've transferred the Jet engine stuff already, hoping to cut the cannon stuff up tonight and upload too. Once he gets the PM telling him it's there I'm sure he'll put up a URL. It's a MP4 quicktime, so be warned

I just can't help laughing out loud every time I see footage of the jet. I'm really looking forward to re-living the cannon madness as well...

...and to prove that quality toasting actually occured:

Hey Hulkster!

Pity I didn't make it across to meet you this year, but I just want to say Thanks! for pioneering the button/knob LED hack that so many of us are enjoying these days.

Photos to come from Patrick and Doug.

Sorry for the delay -- I just arrived back in Fairbanks a couple of days ago and haven't had time to do anything with pictures yet.

But soon, soon...

Meantime, take a look at this picture I took of the Seattle skyline last week.

Ooops... picture is too big to post, as will be the staircase photo, and I have no way of linking to it. Can I email it to someone who can host it?
