Empeg's customer service was top-notch.....

I am surprised that Empeg have mailed you asking them to call without stating why this is necessary. On the other hand, I would have held out one more step before complaining about this. I would have replied to the e-mail stating that telephoning isn't an option and asking them what the problem is.

It may (and this is just a stab in the dark) have something to do with your credit card statement address and the delivery address you're quoting. I think if I were Empeg I'd want to double check this and maybe putting all that in e-mail wouldn't be wise.

Anyway, I guess what I'm saying is that if Empeg are hesitant in taking your money, they've probably got a very good reason for it and if they haven't told you what that reason is, there's probably a very good reason for that too!

Nick.

Hi Nick...You are right...I should have waited a little longer to make the complaint. Empeg got back to me and fixed the problem pretty quick. The problem was the fact that it was common practice for them to have someone call so that the customer's credit card info was not sent via email. Problem was that I was to pay by bank transfer and the second guy who responded to me missed that fact. So as it stands, my order is placed and hopefully Bosnian customs don't "lose" it ha ha. I have deleted the post so I don't discredit Empeg. Thanks for your reply.... John

Bosnian customs?

Another neighbour! Where are you from? There will soon be another owner in Zagreb (Boris bought a second-hand MkI), and that makes three of us the only owners I know of east of Austria...

I paid 10% customs fee (they did not accept empeg was a computer, but car audio) plus 22% VAT. How much do you expect to pay?

Welcome to the club!

Hey Dragi - I actually told a friend here today that there was a guy in Zagreb who had a player...Too bad I didn't know you the last time I was there, we could have had a pivo together. I am here with SFOR from Canada. My car is in storage back home and I can't wait to install the player next spring when I get home. I am bummed about your taxes though, I really hope I don't have to add all that to the cost...Yikes! 22% VAT wow, big bucks!

John
