A little help please.... I just bought a Sony Vaio R505. When I open EAC it acts like it can't find the dvd-rom. It freezes everytime. Two possible issues....
xp compatibility....although no one else seems to be having any trouble
and the dvdrom docking station that comes with the R505.

I've reinstalled but to no avail.

Greetings!

Do you have the most recent EAC and drivers?

Yes. EAC doesn't list a newer version, and I upgraded the drivers.

Do you have ASPI drivers installed? All Win2K XP and NT installs of EAC need a third party ASPI driver installed. For Win2K, I recommend getting the drivers free from Adaptec. For XP, many people use ForceASPI (google it).
