I just upgraded my phone to a Nokia 6230 which is quite nice. I've been able to get winXP to see the phone using bluetooth using a generic CSR (Cambridge Silicon Radio) USB dongle. But, alas, no luck in 2k3 server. I've installed the drivers from the XP install directory; uninstalled drivers and reinstalled the latest bluetooth stack. But it's from Widcomm, who doesn't support my CSR device.
Does anyone know of a hack or alternative driver for this? Or even a reason.

Thanks

And by the way, if you've got the /PAE switch in your boot.ini to access >4GB RAM, USB 2.0 mass storage is not supported until SP1, unless you want to call M$ and get a hot fix. (KB#873402)

Yeah, I found out the hard way.

I found this and followed the instructions, but no joy yet. Maybe I'll just have to wait until sp2

Well if you EVER have a problem with Bluetooth under windows, there are gurus out there who will fix it.

I found some stuff here which pointed me here which has step by step instructions on how to bypass the WIDCOMM driver stuff.

The only thing they omit is how to find the VID/PID stuff.
[ - open regedit and navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\USB\
- you'll see a bunch of entries like 'Vid_0a12&Pid_0001'
- if you click on the subfolders there'll be descriptions of the device.
- the subfolder with the one containing the bluetooth description is the Vid/Pid. ]

follow the instructions and it works a treat.
Instant bluetooth in 2003 server.

just so you know
