I am going to wait a few months for them to fix the inevitable administrative screwups that will happen, since only a small minority of providers are actually prepared to handle phone number portability, and even those are probably going to be overwhelmed by the number of people who want to switch. That being said, I'm not thrilled with my current service, and have been out of my initial contract period for quite some time now... So as soon as a good plan comes by, I'm on it. The best thing about all this is it's going to force the providers to work hard to get our business.
