I am trying to get my screen replaced/functional. The fill nipple is intact and I couldn't see any obvious fuses blown on the board. I emailed '[email protected]' a week ago and have not heard back. How do I get this thing fixed? Thanks.

the fuses will not look burnt, or broken. The fuses are very small, and only a voltage meter will tell you if the fuse is blown. I had 1 fuse blow in my empeg.

This was the fuse that blew in my empeg

You'll have to be patient I'm afraid. RobV said the other day that RobS is a bit behind on his support email at the moment and is planning to catch up on it sometime this week.

Wow.. an SMT fuse..
Aargh. I hate SMT. Can't do easy work on them like thru-hole.

Actually, standard pitch surface mount can be easier to deal with than PTH. Needs slightly different mind-, skill- and tool- sets, but removing solder and cleaning pads after a component removal is incredibly easy compared to PTH.

Obviously as the size goes down and lead count goes up, everything gets harder. But I'd hazard a guess that dealing with a 84 pin 0.5mm surface mount chip would still be easier than dealing with an 84 pin 0.5mm PTH chip (if such a thing existed).

A product called Chip Quik makes SMD rework very easy, with minimal equipment and effort. Give it a try. You can get a kit for about $15.00.

It's that whole mind-set thing I have a problem with.. Havining none, I can't change it easily.
