My cousin is looking to get something for his girlfriend's iPod that will allow her to listen to it in her car. Because of her head unit, FM seems to be the way to go.. does anyone recommend a certain make over another? (US availability).

I don't know that it's the best or even good, but I just thought I'd make you aware of the iTrip, an FM transmitter specfically designed for the iPod.

There are two types - the basic tiny transmitter variety, and the built in ones that go inline with the antenna. While I wouldn't call the inline ones good, I would call them much better than the non-inline ones.

Really investigate the CD changer converter before you resign yourself to fm transmitters. They're easy to install and sound much better and don't usually cost any more than an fm transmitter.

What kind of head unit is it ?

If you have to use a modulator for sure get the inline kind. I have tried the transmitter kind and they hardly work at all.
