Hi, is there a possibilty of controlling music from a phone, through Aux, with the Rio/Empeg remote control. It makes it a whole lot simpler and road-safe than fiddeling with your phone.

Not with the Empeg remote, no.

Third party remotes exist for controlling phones though. Here's one example:

I meant to change songs, play/pause etc. with either the remote or the buttons on the Empeg itself.

Some software development would be necessary to make this work.

One would just connect a $2 bluetooth serial adapter to the serial port on the empeg, and then have the empeg translate button presses into bluetooth commands for the phone.

Thats not a bad idea, I was goint to buy a 3.5mm jack to bluetooth transmitter for the phone, but I guess phones can connect to multiple bluetooth devices at the same time.

About the button translation, is there a configuration file for that, or a guide?

If you want to go that route, remember my first sentence above:

I suggest you first get the bluetooth adapter to work from an ordinary PC, and see if you can figure out how to get the phone to respond to commands sent via that adapter.

If you get that working first, I'll help with the empeg side.

Cheers
