It seems smart phones are losing regular headphone jacks, and my ancient car doesn't have bluetooth support.

With any luck, I'll be replacing my phone before my car, so I'm looking for an adapter that will let me plug a bluetooth receiver in to patch my phone into my car stereo.

I've seen them from $20 to well over $100 (with DAC and amp built in). Anyone have any experience with them?

thanks,

The Anker one works ok and is cheap.

I've been using a Kinivo adapter for the last year or two. Very happy with it!

It looks like the Anker one I have is no longer available.

Thanks for the links! The Anker one seems to have been updated.

If you mean this one:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Anker-Transmitt...=dp_ob_title_ce

Then no, that isn't an update of the car one, whatever Amazon think. The car one I have has pause/back/forward buttons for a start.

Not really the same type of device.

I have one of these (BTC450 I think). Works fairly well. No BT problems and clear sound, no alternator whine etc.

1) USB power cable is fixed to main unit and a bit light duty for my liking.
2) Volume is a bit on the low side even with it at full on the phone.

Really? That's odd. Volume on mine (also a BTC450) is pretty loud. It's a lot louder than the volume of the radio when I switch over, and it's not even on maximum BT volume on my phone (because my phone warns against that, but that's probably mainly a warning for use with headphones). Strange.
